Positano Elopement Logistics
Getting There
First things first, how do you get to Positano? The closest airport to Positano is Naples International Airport (NAP). You can rent a car from Naples or take a shuttle to Positano. Driving the Amalfi Coast can be a bit challenging due to its narrow and winding roads, so a shuttle or private transfer might be the best option if you're unfamiliar with it. The drive takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Alternatively, you can take a train from Naples to Sorrento, followed by a bus or ferry to Positano. It's a bit more time-consuming but offers a scenic route.
Where to Stay
Positano offers a variety of lodging options to fit all budgets. Here are a few recommendations:
Luxury: Le Sirenuse and Il San Pietro di Positano offer stunning views and top-notch amenities.
Mid-Range: Hotel Marincanto and Villa Rosa provide comfort and beautiful vistas without breaking the bank.
Budget: Consider Airbnb or smaller boutique hotels like Casa Albertina for a more affordable yet charming option.
Other places to check out are Hotel Poseidon, Villa Treville, and charming local B&Bs. These places offer stunning views and impeccable service to make your stay unforgettable.
What to Wear for Your Elopement
Positano's climate is generally warm, with summer temperatures ranging from 70-85°F or warmer. It can get pretty hot during the summer, especially if you're out in the sun. Opt for light, breathable fabrics that will keep you cool and comfortable. Don't forget sunscreen!
For Brides: Flowy, bohemian-style dresses are both practical and photogenic. Consider a dress with lace or tulle for that extra romantic flair. Fabric that catches the sea breeze will keep you comfortable and add movement to your photos.
For Grooms: A light suit, linen, or even a crisp shirt and trousers will keep you looking dapper without overheating.
Footwear: Comfortable shoes are a must, as Positano is known for its steep, cobblestone streets. Stylish sandals or wedges for brides and loafers for grooms are great choices. If you have your sights set on a pair of gorgeous heels, wear flats and bring your heels along to change into once we arrive on location.
Coordinating with Your Photographer
As your photographer, my goal is to capture the raw, intimate moments of your special day. Here are a few tips to ensure we’re on the same page:
Share Your Vision: Let me know what kind of photos you envision—whether candid moments, dramatic portraits, breathtaking landscapes, or adventurous experiences (like a sunset boat ride with champagne).
Scout Locations Together: I'll explore the best photo spots before the big day, so we’re ready to capture your love story against the most stunning backdrops. Please let me know if you have any in mind and share your ideal itinerary to incorporate into the photoshoot.
Golden Hour Magic: Keep in mind that the best time for outdoor photos is during the golden hour—just after sunrise or just before sunset—when the lighting is soft and flattering.
